I recently took a short trip to the other side of the world. I did it on a budget of less than $5,000 per person for 2 weeks, including flights and accommodation. All with the help of a few websites which you may not know about.

If you’re travelling soon, you’d want to have a look at these!

AirBnB – airbnb.com.au
One of the darlings of the internet startup world, AirBnB helps travellers get affordable accommodation by connecting with locals. Started as a market for air-mattress space, it now has a whole host of fantastically unique accommodation – from a sofa bed in the middle of Milan to a treehouse in California. We stayed in Paris courtesy of AirBnB.

Momondo – momondo.com
Momondo seems to balance good user interface and cheapest flights. Based in Denmark, it does a better job than Webjet or Wotif, two Australian sites that I previously used. I was able to find discounted Qantas flights from London to Singapore here.

Flightfox – flightfox.com
This website is seriously cool. It capitalises on a global population of “flight hackers”, who for as little as $20+ can find you the cheapest flights for your intended itinerary. I had someone from Romania find me $220 flights from Singapore to Dubai on Malaysia Airlines! Cheaper than flying from Sydney to Melbourne.

Agoda – agoda.com
Agoda is probably a staple now in the online travel booking world. Based out of Singapore, Agoda always seems to be the cheapest prices on hotels around the world. I was able to get 50% off the standard price for an Istanbul hotel right in the middle of Sultanahmet.
I hope these can help you as much as they’ve helped me. And of course, I had the trusty Pocketbook App along with me to track my spending!
Cheap travels!
Bosco
